A stable store of value

Your money shouldn't lose value while it sits still.

When you save in shillings, inflation and currency swings quietly chip away at what you've set aside. Regini converts your funds to digital dollars (USDC), so your value isn't eroded by shilling inflation.

Not like other crypto

Digital dollars are different from risky crypto.

Bitcoin and Ethereum can rise or fall sharply at any time. USDC is different: it is a digital dollar designed to always be worth $1, not to be traded for profit.

Digital dollars (USDC)

Predictable, stable value

Pegged 1:1 to the US dollar; 1 USDC is always worth $1
Backed by real cash and US government bonds, not speculation
Value doesn't swing overnight; built for long-term holding, not trading
Issued by a regulated US company with monthly audited reserves
Earn variable yield while your funds stay protected
Volatile crypto (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.)

Speculative, high risk

Prices can drop 50%+ in days; extreme volatility is the norm
Not backed by real assets; value depends entirely on speculation and sentiment
No predictable returns; you could gain or lose your entire deposit
Often unregulated with little to no consumer protection
Made for trading and speculation, not for saving

What is USDC?

USDC is a digital version of the US dollar, issued by Circle, a regulated US financial company. Every USDC is backed 1:1 by real US cash and short-dated US government bonds held in reserve. Think of it like a dollar in your pocket, but in digital form.

Circle publishes monthly reports from an independent auditor, confirming that every USDC is matched by real assets. This gives you confidence that your digital dollars are always backed by real money, unlike speculative cryptocurrencies.

When you deposit KES with Regini, we convert your money to USDC at the live exchange rate. When you withdraw, we convert back. Your balance is always shown in USD so you can track its real value.

1:1 backed

Every USDC in circulation is matched by one US dollar (or equivalent) held in regulated, audited reserve accounts.

Regulated issuer

Circle is regulated in the US and publishes independent monthly reports confirming that every USDC is backed by real money.

Redeemable 1:1

USDC can be redeemed for US dollars at any time. When you withdraw from Regini, we convert your USDC back to KES at the live rate.

Where yield comes from

Where your yield comes from.

Your USDC earns yield through Kamino, an autonomous on-chain lending protocol. Borrowers on Kamino pay to access USDC liquidity, and that yield is credited to your balance.

Earnings rates can change with market conditions. The rate shown is what you actually earn, after any fees are taken.

Rates are approximate and variable. Past rates are not a guarantee of future returns. Always read our General Risk Warning before adding USDC.

Know the risks

Honest about what can go wrong.

Regini is not a bank. Holding digital dollars carries real risks. Read these before you deposit anything.

Dollar value risk

In rare extreme situations, the value of USDC could temporarily fall slightly below one US dollar. This is uncommon but possible.

Variable earnings risk

Earnings rates are not fixed or guaranteed. They can change with market conditions and may decrease, including potentially to zero.

Third-party platform risk

Regini uses third-party platforms to generate your earnings. If any platform fails or is hacked, it could affect your funds.

Currency exchange risk

When you deposit or withdraw, your money is converted between KES and US dollars at that day's rate. If the shilling strengthens, you may receive fewer shillings when you withdraw.

Technology & security risk

Software bugs or security incidents could affect your funds. We apply industry best practices but cannot guarantee zero risk.

Regulatory risk

The rules for stablecoin platforms are still being developed in Kenya and globally. Future changes may affect how Regini operates or how your funds are held.

Regini is not a licensed bank and funds are not covered by a government deposit guarantee. Never deposit more than you can afford to lose. Read our full General Risk Warning.
